Fast Facts:
Porac is a 1st class municipality and considered as the largest town in the province of Pampanga, Philippines. Porac has a Hilly to Mountainous Terrain on majority of its plains. This town was one of the most affected when Mt. Pinatubo erupted on June 12,1991. After so many years, the town of Porac is now moving forward. Could anyone thought that in this town you will find a high and enchanting falls, The Miyamit Falls.
First Thing to do:
The day before my adventure, I went first to the Mayor's office at the Municipality of Porac located at Brgy. Poblacion, for registration. I signed a waiver and they gave me some instructions to ensure my safety for this solo trip. Mabuti na yung nasa ayos.
How to get there:
From Cubao or any part of Metro Manila take a bus ride going to Mabalacat, Pampanga, buses going to Northern Luzon usually do a stopover at Mabalacat Bus Terminal. From Mabalacat take a jeepney ride going to Angeles City, Porac jeepney terminal is located near Sandra Mall. For first timer, just ask the driver and they will tell you the way. Tell the driver to drop you by at Brgy. Dolores. From there you can hire a tricycle from Brgy. Dolores, Porac or take a private vehicle going to Brgy. Sapang Uwak. At dahil masyado pang maaga at may kalayuan din ang Sapang Uwak, it is advisable to have a guide or a friend who are knowledgeable of the area.
Meet Up Time: 5:30 am
At Exactly 5:20 am when I arrived at Brgy. Sapang Uwak. The Brgy. Captain was already there waiting for me together with Nog, my guide. Bago pa man ako pumunta tinawagan ko na si kapitan, to inform him about my trip to Miyamit. At around 5:30 am we decided to start our trip.
Goodmorning Pampanga!!! |
I mean it, the trail was not that easy as I thought. Everytime we encountered a long and intimadating uphills I asked my guide"Last na ba to?" and he smiled sabay sabing marami pa dun."patay tayo dyan!"
The Floating Mt. Arayat... |
When we were walking, I've noticed that a light strikes at my back. And when I looked behind my back, boom! Wow! Abak na! The sun starts to rise. Along the way you may see these beautiful wild sunflowers.
Bulaklak ng Kalabasa??? |
After that Mt. It leaves no trace ika nga. What a nice and amazing place, with cool morning breeze and unique landscapes of nature made my trip worth it. Once in a while I paused for a break and took some pictures.
Always keep that smile when there's a Camera |
As we continue, we met some of the locals (Aetas) along the way doing their usual activities every morning. A simple smile from them makes me feel at home. The place was so quiet and peaceful.
From where I'm standing, I can see the gazebo (the View Deck). I told Nog to joined me in some of my pictures. Nog was a very cool guy. We both like picture takings, kaya siguro madali nyang nasasakyan mga trip ko. Ehehe!
But before we went up to the summit, we took a minutes of rest at the junction point. In here, I prepared myself for the final leg to the summit. Since the way to the view deck was very narrow and steep, kailangan kong bumwelo ng kaunti.
Summit na rin sa wakas! |
Finally, at exactly 8:02 am when we reached the summit. Whooooooh! Whahaha! It was my first time to climb a mountain as high as this. Kaya para akong bata na tuwang tuwa.
Catch a Glimpse of Miyamit Falls |
I can see the twin falls from the top. It was really enchanting. Mt. Negron on my left. Mt. Pinatubo was hiding at the clouds on my right.
Merienda Time |
The View Deck |
Banana Mountain... |
At exactly 9:27 am, we arrived at Miyamit falls. At first there were series of mini water falls along the way and at the end of it, we were surprised by these two water falls which I think, approximately 30 to 35 feet high.
If you're worried about where to stay when you get here, don't worry my friend there are lots of bahay kubo around to choose from.
Is it True or Falls? |
My camera was in position. Picture dito, Picture doon. This was really the highlight of my adventure and I highly suggest that everyone should visit this falls. For those people who seek adventure and want to experience a one of a kind nature trip put Miyamit falls in your list.
Since I'm the only visitor in this place on that time, with my guide of course, I took the opportunity to feel the coldness of the water. Liguan na!
At around 11:30 am we decided to leaved the place.
We reached Brgy. Sapang Uwak at around 2:30 am. And while waiting for my service, bonding moment muna sa mga kabataang Aeta. It was really a very nice experienced.

ReplyDeleteHey guys! Medyo naging busy this past few weeks now ko lang nabasa mga messages...
Deleteinformative blog...nice one. nakita ko sya kasi nag-search ako about this miyamit falls. i was amazed by a picture of it from one of my fb friends....not knowing na sa porac, pampanga pala sya. sana mapuntahan ko 'to.
That time po P500 binayad ko... Free lng po yung permit and waiver..
Deletehello sana mkkapag reply parin po kayo....marami po kaming pupunta sa falls, pwdi po ba na ung kukuha ng permit is 2 to 3 person lang pra sa 10 people na ppnta? or kailangan lahat ng pupunta personal na kukuha ng permit.thank you
DeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI went to Miyamit Falls with my husband last December 23 for our 4th year anniversary. This blog post convinced me to go there. Unfortunately, your three hours walk to Miyamit Falls is five hours for us. Mabagal akong maglakad, kulang sa practice.
Sa totoo lang, feeling ko last day na ng buhay ko un. But as you said, this is one experience that I will never forget. And kung tatanungin ako if uulitin ko pa ba, oo naman. Next time though mas maganda kung marami kasama and physically ready din ako.
So thanks for this post. I am not very adventurous (never even tried going up a hill). But I was convinced to go there because of your wonderful post. And because of that, I was able to experience something beyond me and I am very, very happy.
Thanks batangkapampangan and more power to you!
Snnyjean
More Adventures to come!
ReplyDeleteI'm Dindo member of Dong-in Outdoor Society(a mountaineering group base in Bataan). My group are planning to trek to Miyamit Falls this last sunday of January.Do we need to get a permit?how much is the guide fee?
ReplyDeleteGood Day Sir Dindo! Yes sir, it is required for all the Hikers/climbers to get a permit/waiver to the Municipal Office of Porac before going to Mitamit Falls. This practice is part of their safety measures in that area. The Brgy. Capt. of Sapang Uwak will check those permits/waivers, kaya kailangan po talaga. Regarding naman po sa guide, actually guides are not required/mandatory. Since the trail is very visible and well establish hindi po kayo maliligaw. I gave P500 for my guide when I went there, ayaw po kasi ako payagan ni Kap na magsolo that time. For your concerns for the permits/waivers sir, try to call the Municipality of Porac Hotline above. Ingat and thank you po for dropping by...
DeleteGood day sir, salamat po sa mga info, tanung ko na din sana kung may permit naba kami kailangan p namin pumuntsa sa munisipyo bago pumunta sa falls or deretso na kami sa sapang uwak?mula town proper ng Porac ilang oras hanggang sapang uwak?pwede ba kila Kap iwanan ang service namin?more power to you sir...
Deleteser, you said that 4x4 trucks pass by the road... does that mean we could bring our 4x4 suv. baka di kayanin kung lalakarin namen eh... :)
ReplyDeleteBy Sunday jan kami, first time ;)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and ingat po!
DeleteThanks for your post.
ReplyDeleteI called the trunkline above and found out that they don't issue permits on weekends. It has to be done weekdays during the munisipyo's regular business hours. I hope they could put up some sort of a tourist desk/kiosk open during weekends as well even if they have to charge a minimal fee
Thanks for the blog, found out another destination...
DeleteNice post, very informative. Aakyat kami ng group namin this March, this blog has been helpful to us! Dakal salamat Cabalen!
ReplyDeleteDakal mu rin pung salamat! Babalik po ako dyan on March 15, 2014... keep safe po and enjoy!
ReplyDelete-batangkapampangan
Thank you for your very informative and wonderful post about the Miyamit falls. My famiy is planning to have the adventure there. Is there any place to stay overnight? Baka hindi po kasi namen makayanan yung back and forth na akyatan in one day. Lalo na po hindi kami expert climbers. First timers lahat sa family namen. Wala bang shortcut? Hehe. Any suggestion for the first timers? Thank you! :))
ReplyDeleteGoodday sir! Dami na nagbago, for safety reason mas mabuti po kung may makukuha kayong permit/waiver from The Mayor's office. Have a wonderful summer vacation!
ReplyDeleteHello! I was trying to look for an email address where I can get in touch with you but couldn't find any. :(

DeletePwede ba dalhin yung maliit na kotse hanggang sapang uwak? Plano namin mag overnight and just leave the car sa bgy hall. Safe ba maayos ba dawn? Tnx
As of now may checkpoint na po dun.
Thanks in advance =D
ReplyDeleteJust funny how many times naulit yung questions about permit, pero if you try to read, nandito na lahat ng sagot.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteGood day sir Jem... nasa P200-P300 po ang isang trip from poblacion to sapang uwak.
ReplyDeletesarap naman sumama sa byahe mo ehehe kasi pag ako nagplano dinatutuloy kasi marami kj..sigh..anyway im planning to visit this one of these days thanks for the insights...
ReplyDeleteGood day po!
Need to add this on my list in things to do in Pampanga, friends and I are planning to go there next week. Sana wag umulan. Salamat sa mga tips!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome sir! Ingat and Enjoy!
DeleteHello, may contact po ba kayo sa Porac?? pwede po bang makahingi balak po kasi aming pumunta dun this September! Hoping for your reply. :)
DeleteSayang e ke ikit ining blog ini last time na minuli ku, The most informative blog I've read. ReplyDeleteGood day sir!

ReplyDeleteHello ma'am Rhea May!
DeleteIdol question lang kaya kaya sya puntahan using bike?
